Ramadan begins on July 31, 2011 and ends on August 28, 2011 God willing for all parts of the USA and Canada. To calculate the Ramadan start date - compare the time of the New Moon with the Sunset in your location. If the new moon is born before sunset, you should fast the next day God willing. Similarly to determine the last day of Ramadan fasting - compare the time of the next New Moon with the sunset in your location. If the new moon is born before sunset, the month of Ramadan is complete on that day.

For Internataionl locations, such as Turkey, Indonesia, Australia, India, Pakistan, etc., Ramadan begins on August 1, 2011 and ends on August 29, 2011 God willing. The new moon times to help you determine the start and end for your location are:

Start New Moon: July 30, 2011: 6:40 pm (UTC/GMT)
End New Moon: August 29, 2011: 3:04 am (UTC/GMT)
